(See image above for example of placement.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And, as of April 2021, Cup Print have an important update for operators selling in the Republic of Ireland. (<em>See below for Northern Ireland)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>As Irish and English are the official languages of The State, both languages are required to be displayed. The official texts to be displayed (PLAISTEACH SA T\u00c1IRGE and PLASTIC IN PRODUCT) are shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4122\" src=\"https:\/\/cupprint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/PLAISTEACH-SA-TAIRGE-300x198.png\" alt=\"Image of compulsory label marking for EU SUPD Irish-language turtle artwork for paper beverage cups\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/p>\n<p><u>Here&#8217;s a summary of what you need to know:<br \/>\n<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cups <strong>delivered<\/strong> <strong>to <\/strong>customers <strong>before <\/strong><u>July 3rd 2021<\/u> <strong>CAN be sold <\/strong>in that European Member State <u>until July 4th 2022<\/u> <strong><strong><strong>without the label<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Cups that are to be delivered to and sold <em>(\u2018Placed on the market\u2019<\/em>) in <u>another European Member State<\/u> after July 3rd <u>2021<\/u> must have the label.<\/li>\n<li>Directive applies to <strong>all types of disposable cups<\/strong> &#8211; even so-called &#8216;<em>plastic-free<\/em>&#8216; cups (Anyone offering such products as a \u2018Solution\u2019 to avoid labelling is giving misleading information)<\/li>\n<li>The marking must contain the official language(s) of the country the cup is used in. Cups sold in Northern Ireland must have the label in English.
